1Disappointing  Aug 29, 2008
I love horror movies and good vs evil themes. However this movie was really disappointing. Not scary, not unique, and very dated. Doesn't hold up to classic horror movies or more current ones. Instead, check out Jeeper Creepers, Mothman Prophesies, but don't waste your time here.

5Interesting! Bizarre?  Aug 15, 2008
This movie isn't bad! It's not bad at all! In fact, I'd even hazard my reputation by saying it's...good?

Firstly, I've seen the first two hellraiser movies. I've also played some Clive Barker video games and read some of his fiction. Honestly, I've never really been that impressed by his work...until I saw Nightbreed fifteen minutes ago. I won't go into the story, since others here have given absurdly comprehensive details, but here are my thoughts:

A great cast (with great performances from all, including David Cronenburg), a wonderful score by Danny Elfman, incredible special effects, and a story that just blew my socks off, you really can't miss with Nightbreed. Not to mention the deep delicious, between-the-lines commentary on religion, racism, and humanity in general. This movie thrilled me, scared me, and made me think, too...now THAT'S what I call a good horror flick!

Especially considering the price, you should pick this up! For those leery of Clive Barker stuff, give it a shot. It's definitely the best work from him I've ever observed!

Besides, once you see Nightbreed you'll know where the monsters live...

5One of Clive Barker's Best Horror Tales  Jul 26, 2008
I love all of Clive Barker's Works.
This particular storyline follows the Kabala as well as the Christian Bible, it makes you think; as well as feel.
Those individuals who have seen/felt Death, can write objectively about it, as Mr. Barker has. I would love to meet him.

5Awesome  Jul 07, 2008
Great movie, hillarious. I love the 80's movies and they are always good for a few laughs. This one had been reccommended to me and I love it! It's one of the cheesiest movies I have seen in awhile. Basic premise of the movie is the Nightbreed live in the cemetary, they are an ancient civilization that have been prosecuted for centuries and you can become one of them. The main character does just that and helps them fight against the redneck militia who are out to destroy them, led by a psychotic psychiatrist who wants to be one of them. A little bit of T&A due to the fact that it's an 80's 'horror' flick (not scary). But not so much as to offend or even turn on as it is just a guys immagination running rampant with female 'monsters' Definitely would reccommend to others.

5Clive Barker...need I say more?  Jun 28, 2008
If you like his books, you'll like this film. Holds up pretty well.
So - who are the real monsters? You figure it out.
